If you recall, the BPA, aka Brighton Port Authority, is Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, and any number of guest vocalists (Emmy The Great, David Byrne). That in mind, when I saw Coldplay’s video for “Life In Technicolor II” I joked (told the truth) to Amrit that the Chris Martin puppet had more charisma (and seemed smarter, could dance better) than the real-life Chris Martin. The same can’t be said for the Iggy Pop puppet in this video for the BPA’s take on “He’s Frank.” Though Iggy Pop, the puppet, does have better “skin” and nicer hair. His handlers are also quite subtle.

The BPA’s I Think We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat is out 2/3 via Southern Fried. You can keep watch for additional specifics at MySpace.

  1. This cover is an abomination… for the love of god, go track down The Monochrome Set’s original version.
