In 2008, Julie Potash left longtime Long Island ladyrap troupe (and OKX “No Surprises”ing) Northern State for a solo career under her solo nom de plume Hesta Prynn. A few years later the NY Post has her pegged as “one to watch,” she’s co-written and released her debut EP Can We Go Wrong with Chuck Brody, and then there’s this: a confident and catchy post-EP rock charmer titled “Easy Bear,” featuring a prominent lead vocal from ursine Les Savy favorite Tim Harrington, a hook that stretches miles, some big guitars from Brody. Hear it once, you’ll definitely want it again:

Not a bad Jam, but this ‘Easy Bear’ seemed like it was going somewhere it never found. And upon listening to 2 tracks from Hesta’s EP, I am glad to hear Easy Bear didn’t wander into the rest of Hesta Prynn’s Rip-Rop-Rippity-Rap Woods.
