This month sees solo release number five from former Grant-Lee Buffalo frontman and Gilmore Girls‘ resident town troubadour Grant-Lee Phillips. Although Phillips takes credit for nearly every aspect of the album (writing, producing, engineering, performing), he’s helped on this track with the guitar work of Peter Buck (who’s sitting in all over the place these days). If you’re a fan of Grant’s rich, soulful voice — and come, how can you not be — this track’s lilting alt-country smoothness is a must.
Strangelet is out 3/27 on Zoë/Rounder.

Agreed.
Thirded. “Hallelujah” from that album is amazing.
