Good news for the boys and girls of America that haven’t had the beer-splattering pleasure of seeing The Hold Steady plow through their most recent collection of tunes. Craig and the gang will start touring in April with a smattering of shows over a week in Europe, but that’s just a warm-up for nearly two months of gigs on this side of the Atlantic, beginning with a one-off show with The Thermals in NYC and proceeding through the midwest, the Pacific northwest (Sasquatch!), the southwest, and yes even the west coast before swinging back this way for some dirty festival action at Bonnaroo. Get your presale on here, and take the jump for the dates (and a first look at the boys posing on the cover of Paste‘s upcoming issue).

UPDATE: Turns out that date with The Thermals is a private show, accidentally included with the rest of the dates. Sorry kids!

I am not pleased at the lack of a Chicago show. Hopefully they’ll make a festival appearance this summer.

Sarah, a cities show would fall in nicely on the 19th… they don’t need to take a day off, right? We’ll just have to wait and hope.

I wish I had friends that had good taste in music that would go to shows with me or at least ones with enough money + time to go anyways. Bunch of tight asses. Oh well, can always force the girl friend.

I saw them in Tallahassee at Florida State [for free!] on March 12th, they were really really good! Sucks that there are no Florida shows this time around!

lazy, I know what you mean. They are playing two Wisconsin shows but none in their home state. I would expect foolishness like that from an Iowa band.
