Though we nominally enjoyed LCD’s show at Bowery in March, it wasn’t ’til their set at Coachella last weekend that we fully succumbed to the band’s insatiable drive to sweat-drench its victims. A set highlight that night, along with a 12-minute “Yeah,” was Sounds Of Silver’s “All My Friends,” which incidentally is being covered by all James Murphy’s friends. The slow-moving clip’s simple enough, some smoke, some mirrors, and a little water ’cause why not. Brewing fashion face off: James’s suit and facepaint combination, or Brian’s t-shirt and tie combination? (Thanks Travis for the heads up!)

I DONT GET IT, THEY’RE NOT VERY GOOD.

  5. is it just me or does anyone else hear a little joy division in this song?

Yep, it’s just joy division without the poetry, or simply nostalgic new music for middle-aged (obligatory ‘gum over 40 reference!) music fans who want to believe that they’re still relevant. Full disclosure: I’m one, but I’m not buying into it.

  7. Considering it’s my favourite song on the album, I’m glad it’s a single and all…but wow, does this song ever lose something by being cut down to radio/video length.

The video isn’t bad, but disappointing that a song with such a sense of motion isn’t given a video to match.

Remember in the nineties when every band could have a decent, visually-striking video? Why can’t that be the case this decade? Almost every video done these days is low-budget and shitty – someone tell these directors that the two don’t have to be synonymous.

i like the video. true the song loses a lot with the edit, but the vid is still pretty cool. remember the old bowie vid for life on mars? it’s just bowie in a suit lip syncing and doing his little expressions. simple.

  10. theres a part about halfway thru where he looks off to the side of the camera with this pained expression, i thought it was pretty powerful.

the piano gets annoying, but great lyrics. actually, just a great song in general.
