Sacha Baron Cohen has reportedly been tapped to play flamboyant Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in an upcoming biopic to be produced by Robert DeNiro. (We hear Johnny Depp was the previous frontrunner.) This bit of casting news makes us giddy. But frankly, we don’t see the resemblance.

If the buzz about Michael Cunningham’s screenplay is true, Queen for a Day would be an appropriate title. Apparently, Cunningham doesn’t like traditional biopics, so he’s taking a day in the life. So, which day?
Queen was one of the world’s greatest bands and a movie about Freddie would be great. But who decided Sascha was a good choice. Get someone from one of the tribute bands. And to those who thinks the moview is a bad idea, I get sick eveytime an Elvis biopic is on TV. His singing was awful.
Please don’t spoil the image of Freddie with someone who obviously would only bring shame to his awesome legacy
