Singer Erika Wennerstrom delivers her “lean on me” sentiment with a brazen, oomphatic vocal, and the vid for the title track from Heartless Bastards second LP wraps it in some psychedelically animated band shots, and goofy fortune telling and chauffeuring sessions. And the American Gothic homage at the end is a cute capstone on the we’re-in-it-together vibe. Neither heartless nor bastards, these three.

That was good! Really, it was!
I like it when bands take generic chords and make it their own. It puts more emphasis on the lyrics and vocal melodies however, but she came through. And the “firing squad” drum roll was ACE!

  3. LOVE this band. Totally underrated.

  4. fantastic album too. pick it up. or buy some of their merch. or go see them in concert.

i really like the way the video was put together , beauty bursting out of unexpected areas.

and a women who can play guitar and sing ,instead of lookin like a ignorant icon in the front, is automaticly twice as sexy .

I agree with the post by Scott about the beauty of a woman who plays the guitar. Not that it should always have to be brought up, but thats awesome. Theyre bringing the sixties back, too, which is A ok in my book. Heartless Bastards have a heart of gold……..
