After the Norwegian duo of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland celebrated their 10th happy birthday, they stopped by for a Progress Report, then reminded everyone that they’re “Happy Up Here” (aka in Norway aka a rich country). Now there’s a happy little video for the latter, the first single from Röyksopp’s forthcoming third studio full-length Junior. In it we watch two big-eyed cartoon grownup children drive their red convertible through the desert then figure out a way to achieve liftoff. The guy loses his hat, but otherwise it’s all good.

UPDATE: This is not the proper video. D’oh. We’ll post the real (much cooler) one shortly.

“Happy Up Here” is out as a single on 3/9 via Astralwerks. Junior is out 3/24, also via Astralwerks.

This song sounds like a television commercial. Almost a like a reaction to all of the licensing deals from past records… I dunno … almost feels like they wrote this with the intention licesning this out for the new Blackberry phone or some other tech product.

This song sounds like a Röyksopp song.

What all these licensing deals you speak of?

Fun little video. I’m excited for the full length. It’s been too long.

Yay for posting more Royksopp! This video’s cute and all… but its not the official video. The real video is some crazy -ass *mindblowingly amazing* space invaders radness. You definitely need to post that one and let the gushing EPIC! comments ensue…

    MF McNutt ,

check out wikipedia for the whole list of advertisments and other licensing deals. But off the top of my head …Gieco, T-mobile, and the music used for the Apple OS system PANTHER…

Don’t get me wrong. I love this group.

It’s probably my ears just being a little tired from this sound due to saturation and this tune doesn’t stray from the formula at all. This could have come out in 2002 IMHO

I did check out wikipedia before I commented. A song to Geico and and a song to Apple are the only major U.S. licensed songs. Two songs.

I doubt you remember that T-mobile ad as it was only shown in the UK.

How many people remember that Röyksopp song that appeared in an episode of a Danish consumer program “Rabatten”?

Röyksopp has licensed very few songs in the course of their career.
