I do love me some Beta Band.
As a lowly PA four years ago I convinced my editor (the talented Andy Gensler, of Spin and Rolling Stone fame) to let me review the EP from King Biscuit Time, Stephen Mason’s side-project. I don’t think anyone read it. Here, you can be the first. I love that EP. You can probably find it in the discount bin at your local record store. I think MTV actually used “I Walk The Earth” in a Movie Awards promo last year. That’s the best track.
As you know, the Beta Band is back in the spotlight with an excellent new album. Listen to tracks here.
I haven’t given you guys any new music in a while, so here’s a remix of the first single. ROCK.

The buzz for Beta Band was incredible when they were opening for Radiohead’s Amnesiac tour. Unfortunately, it’s trailed off since then. They’re a great band.
man, i feel like a total dick today, but someone needs to close your italics code.
I remember being in England in 1999, and the Beta Band were everywhere. They struck me as being an exceedingly british creation, what with the mixture of beats, acoustic guitars, and singers that could actually sing. This was also around the time that Gomez was getting the mercury prize, so the Betas fit right in with the landscape. But then something happened, and I’m not sure what. Hopefully this slight return to form will remind us of why we all took to them in the first place.
new album is so good–where’s the buzz? spread the word, young man.

Maybe we’ll have to wait for the next season of the O.C.
