Ben Gibbard and Zooey Deschanel both sang at Game 3 of the Giants vs. Phillies NLCS yesterday. Gibbard did “The Star-Spangled Banner” while Deschanel did “God Bless America” later in the game, both choosing simple, shaky arrangements. Giants won. Watch both below:

Q: When will they work together and fulfill their destiny as our generation’s Captain & Tenille?

Zooey’s performance kind of gave me chills. Usually Im not a huge fan. Mr Gibbard’s on the other hand was weird.
Also, Go Giants!
Yikes–Gibbard sounds terrible in this setting… but not so bad for Zooey!! It takes a lot of energy to fill a stadium with these a cappella ballads!!
Both sounded pretty good to me, and I’m not usually a fan of either singer’s voice.
