By 1984, Art of Noise’s fancy sampling equipment and avant-garde experimentalism had already destroyed classical music forever. Violin? Stomped! Horn? Sliced! Piano? Smashed! Small dog? Taunted with sausage! Suck on that, Beethoven!

They’re totally incompetent, and they dress like Huey Lewis & the News. This is the problem with Americans, in a nutshell: low tolerance for hard work, high tolerance for Huey Lewis & the News.

The problem with Americans? I don’t know, there was definitely something very French about that video.
Dated on the surface..(Big drums,sampled orchestral hits,(think they were some of the first to really explore thoses,commercially)-Rough 8-bit sampling etc..But this group changed my life…(i.e. Beat Box,Moments in love,etc..) By showing the limitless possibilities of Electronica and sampling,at a time when synth pop/electro and hiphop Ebb and flowed together..I remember BeatBox being a big Breakdance track for my ol’ crew..”Ba-Ba-Boh,Boh,Boh!” And yet,in many ways AON have retained an inovative and fresh vibe…Simular to They’re cousins……Kraftwerk..
