Will Oldham’s been generating MP3s and videos of late, none of which are attached to the forthcoming Beware of course because Bonnie is prolific like that. The banjo and fiddle Americana march of “I Am Goodbye” is the collection’s first studio listen, and the vid’s got “Prince” strolling the city, smiling at passersby while he explains all the ways in which he is “Goodbye.” Simple and cute, and in stark contrast to the shadowy album art.
Beware is out 3/17 in the US via Drag City (3/16 in the UK via Domino). For more advance Beware fun, try this live take on “You Can’t Hurt Me Now.”
