The AP does! It’s been years since Joseph Foreman a.k.a. Afroman captured the inhibited imagination of a stoner nation with his smash “Because I Got High,” and it’s been nearly as long since you fully grasped the track’s inanity. Still, though, Afroman’s been busy, working on new projects and giving good quote. On his big hit (pun!):

I was just having fun. It is a stew. It’s like a gumbo.

Can’t think of a song that’s less like a gumbo … but, bad analogy anyway. Moving on: Best part about his career?

One thing I like about being Afroman is that nobody really cares.

One thing we like about Afroman is that he says shit like that. But what’s ‘man up to these days?

Foreman said he’s working on his first film, a spoof of 1995′s Waiting to Exhale.

“I am supplying the key ingredients” for the movie, Waiting to Inhale, he told the AP.

Waiting To Inhale is also the name of his latest album.

Oh Afroman. Your stoner flick’s gonna be messed up, and we know why…

Afroman would likely have to have a word with Devin the Dude about the use of that album title…that is, were either party able to afford a lawyer.

First off Devin’s album came out first. So if anyone needs to have words with anyone else it’s Devin! Second, Devin and Afroman are cool. In fact in a recent interview afroman gives props to Devin. Finally, Devin put out Waitin’ to inhale afroman put out Waiting to inhale.

      Quit hattin’, STUPID!!!

nah, that was chris tucker. who is a lot less fun now. another rush hour? pleaze. how many times can he say “leeee!” and have it be funny? i’ll probably still laugh, but i’ll hate myself for it in the morning.

I’m surprised Afroman didn’t mention his contribution to NATO’s efforts in Afghanistan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjSzaNkbfWM

  5. I had this girlfriend who was heavy into smoking and she loved Afroman (obvs). Despite not really digging that girl anymore I still hold a small place in my heart for that guy – he’s got some hilarious tracks…but ultimately he’s right…no one really cares.

Anyone know that he put out a Christmas album?

  6. Afroman: representing Hattiesburg, Mississippi… nice.

Devin gets paid… but he doesn’t need a lawyer when J. Prince sends out the Rap-A-Lot mafia.

strangely, he’s friends with E from EELS and since his descent into nothingness, he’s actually appeared onstage with them. Regardez the proof:
