From Brandon’s December Mixtape last week you probably got the sense that we’re shifting here with the lower temperature and shorter days. It’s kind of hard not to indulge a little. Perfect for that feeling: BTW Family Band’s Cold Songs digital EP. It’s five songs with accompanying videos for each track. The videos are mostly in sepia or black & white, which fit the mood here: isolated, icy, etc. But title track “Cold Song,” has a motion-inducing beat and traveling themes, so there’s still momentum to these frozen tracks.

Vocalist Kin Krans said she and partner Jonny Ollsin filmed the video for “Beg” at their Catskills cabin (where they also do a lot of music recording). So that’s got to be Ollsin playing the hooded hunter:
