The NME reports Damon Albarn’s cooked up a new album on his iPad, while on the road touring through America, and is making an Xmas gift of it to people who venture over to gorillaz.com on 12/25. The cartoon troupe’s co-creator Jamie Hewlett told the Aussie paper Perth Now: “On Christmas Eve a video for one of the new songs from the iPad album will be released. Then on Christmas Day fans get the whole album downloaded to their computer for free as a gift.” It’ll come via the advent calendar that’s up on the site right now.

Can’t wait for christmas, finally a reason to celebrate on 25th of december.
An iPad ALBUM?!?!? Now I’ve heard of everything. But the album better not be just a bunch of audio of Damon tapping different apps on his new iPad, giggling and saying to himself “oh wow, this is so cool, this really IS gonna revolutionize how we compute!”
I kid! Of course I’m excited, I even preemptively voted it album of the year in the gummies!

The Gorillaz website says Sub-Division Members (their fan club) get the album for free, but it costs $45 to join the club.
You’re right! Oh curse the day! And excellent eyes, deafgoeff. I was too busy with my traditional dance of jubilation to read anything but “free” and “gorillaz” and “album.”
