Alice Glass brought a red lollipop and the rag-doll energy of the “Baptism” video for a performance of the track last night on Jimmy Kimmel. (Unfortunately Ethan left his Japanese sex mask at home.) Fellow Crystal Castles single “Celestica” may have won more casual listeners (especially during this cold front), but “Baptism”‘s infectious implosion (complete with live drums) was the visceral pop option. Even if the crowd’s barely breathing.
Crystal Castles, one of my favorite albums of the year, is out via Fiction. Let’s hope they bring “Doe Deer” to Leno in 2011.

I’m a big Crystal Castles fan so I thoroughly enjoyed this but was also laughing, thinking of the random Kimmle fans catching this who had never heard of crystal castles. probably not an enjoyable experience for them
Alice Glass for life!
