Holy Ghost! are prepping their DFA debut for release in April. “Do It Again,” the first single, does a good job of referencing new wave without sounding dated. It’s their good ears, and their expert experience with vintage synths. (Their “I Know, I Hear” video also nailed an aesthetic and showed off their synth fetish.) For this song, I especially love the synth sound that comes in halfway through, the one that sounds like a cross between glass bottles tinkling and a baby throwing up. You’ll hear what I mean:
