R.E.M. Mine Smell Like Honey

Once you add “Mine Smell Like Honey” to the pot, we’ve heard four fairly different sounds and takes for R.E.M’s 15th studio album Collapse Into Now. Last time it was the gentle “Oh My Heart.” This one’s a sunny, cheeky rocker: “I would dare you, but I know I don’t need to / You’re going to do just what you want to / You’re going to take the leavings here at the fairground / You’re going to sing the praises of your fruit,” etc.

Collapse Into Now is out 3/8 via Warner Bros.

  1. I like the song but I can’t help but feel as though they should pack it in. Their songs just keep on getting more and more repetitive….adding nothing new to the table.

    • name one other rem song that this song sounds like? i know their catalogue inside out and this reminds me of nothing else they have ever done.

  2. Very cool song! I love Mills’ backing vocals and the chorus is fantastic! March 8 can’t here fast enough!
