You probably noticed the strong new wave streak running through Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs, especially on the Régine Chassagne-fronted “Sprawl II.” The Hood Internet‘s ABX also picked up on the song’s rhythmic similarities to Blondie’s “Heart Of Glass” when he created this mashup. I like that the guitar melody of the latter song comes up subtly and naturally after Régine’s verses. Listen:
