This reminds reminds of something I doodled in third grade. (That is not an insult; I got a B+.)
Angles is out 3/22 via RCA. You can hear its first single “Under Cover Of Darkness” right here.

are there multiple versions?
this is the one on their site:
Not even going to lie, this band is brilliant.
BUT knowing how hard it is to go somewhere these days in music my band Being Born Rich needs to be publicized. You guys have to understand why I’m about to post our links on here. Cause if you like The Strokes and wish music went back to those specific days where bands actually releasedground breaking music, then you should check out myspace.com/beingbornrich or check out our facebook page and spread the word if you like us. Ace to independent record labels. Adios. – Greg
oops nevermind. the one from their site looks funky with Chrome
Don’t worry everyone, the inside sleeve will still have plenty of photos of Julian & Co. in leather jackets and wayfarer’s. Y’all can rest assured.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of the wear wayfarers.
But yeah, they are fashion plates, duh. Thanks for the update from 2002.
Sweet, where’s Q-Bert?
No, see, the challenge is getting the marble to descend the steps without falling off the edge. And also the marble needs to simultaneously ascend and descend at the same time, that’s also a little bit of a challenge.
Beat me to it.
hmmm….looks like a Men at Work single or something. it’s kinda just wrong enough to be right.
Reminds me of MGMT’s Congratulations. I guess bright hues and checkerboard pattern is the new hip.
this reminds me of marble madness, the game is a classic (old skool NES)
best game ever.
i loved it, it was actually an arcade game way before NES.
Oh, man. I’ve been reading this album title as “Angels” this whole time (I swear it’s been reported that way…). I like “Angles” much better.
Ha! Same here. It took this album cover to get me to properly read the title of the album. Oh, silly us.
i was afraid that new “badge” or variant of it with pictures of the band was gonna be the cover. so relieved to see thats not the case
Don’t like It. Doesn’t make me think the Strokes. I mean they’re returning to the classic sound, you couldn’t tell with this cover. But I guess they’re are a lot of ANGLES in which you could interpret it.
paradox!
this is horrible. still luv u Strokes.
I concur with the MGMT connection. This ain´t bad, but it just doesn´t have that Strokes kitsch to it. It reeks of failed experimentation. For the sake of all of us, I hope the new LP is really a return to form…
that’s a fancy penrose staircase…
Its alright, was hoping more for an album cover similar to Under Cover Of Darkness cover but whatever this looks fine.
I’d say it definitely has that “strokes’ kitch”. just fast forward ten years from the seventies to the eighties, after all, ‘Is this it’ was about a decade ago.
I too like the single cover more. This is ok.
I dig it. Absolutely ridiculous.
I definitely get the Congratulations feel too, first thing I thought of. For a minute I thought it was a really not-Strokes-y looking cover, but really the abstract geometric pattern on a yellow background idea worked pretty well the first time around…
That US cover version of “Is This It” came from a microscopic picture of atoms colliding and maybe the picture was tweated a bit for effect. The “Congratulations” comparison comes from a two-tone checked background present in both covers and both covers feature the same colors in various shade. And, of course, not to mention the 80′s kitschiness.
I was hoping for another nude girl’s ass on the cover again.
I think most people were, deep down in their hearts. Fortunately, there’s the entire rest of the Internet for that.
can’t wait for this album to come out on March 22! you need to listen to their new song if you haven’t! so good!
M.C. Escher influenced…Awesome….I wouldn’t mind it if the cover stuck to something monochromatic though.
Oh good, you found my Trapper Keeper. Thanks, Strokes.
TBH it looks like the cover of a high school maths textbook. Key Stage 3: Angles
