Governors Ball Festival

Organizers just announced the lineup for the first ever Governors Ball Festival in New York City on Governor’s Island, of course. The festival takes place June 18. The schedule isn’t up yet, but since they promise “no overlapping sets,” I’m guessing it’ll all be on one big stage, all day. UPDATE: Looks like it’s two stages, with alternating performances. Girl Talk and Neon Indian (who played Governors Island last summer) are among the bands they announced today, and it looks like they’ll have a solid hip-hop component to the festival with Big Boi and People Under The Stairs.
The lineup so far:

Girl Talk
Pretty Lights
Empire of the Sun
Big Boi
Neon Indian
People Under The Stairs
Passion Pit (DJ Set)
Mac Miller
Miami Horror
Outasight
Reptar

Here’s their lineup announcement video:

Tickets are on sale beginning Thursday at 10 a.m. Get them here.

  1. It’s actually going to be two stages with no overlapping music, not one. I’m assuming that also means that once one act finished on one stage, the other act comes on to the other stage. In other words, no breaks between music!

  2. if the organizers really want to grab the tri state college crowd other than mac, get chris webby up in that festivus
