Marissa Nadler - "Baby, I Will Leave You In The Morning"

After leaving Kemado, dark folk singer (and Xasthur collaborator) Marissa Nadler’s releasing her forthcoming self-titled Brian McTear-produced fifth full-length on her own. Here’s a track from it, “”Baby, I Will Leave You In The Morning.” I enjoy the Snoop Dogg/Dr. Dre-esque atmospherics.

The album’s tentatively out sometime in June. You can gather more info at Bandcamp.

  1. Oooooh I like it! Always getting higher until the end when she finally admits it, that’s an interesting way to keep a simple and repetitive melody intriguing.

  2. She reminds me a lot of Mark Kozelek. Both of them take incredible songs that can often be upbeat and they bring the song into a different light, making it a lot more dissonant and beautifully haunting.
