New York singer-songwriter Tim Williams enters a cut-and-paste fairytale in his video for “Novel.” We see that book flapping and read the song title, but “Novel”‘s less novelist, and more a well-detailed short story in some clear-skied setting where you toss out dreams and live in your garbage until you jump on a boat with a parasol-toting lady, fight away sky-darkening waves and octopi, hop a ride with an elephant, take a flight into outer space with some helpful song birds, etc. The video, at least, is sorta like the carnival-in-space of the Pumpkins’ “Tonight, Tonight,” but with less dramatic sweep.

Regardless, our writer’s block isn’t this magical. Speaking of which: Amrit, pass the beer.
Feel free to check it out sans images as well (if you’re one of those).
