The Hives are getting mad mileage out of new tune “Tick Tick Boom” via a Nike running shoe campaign, but don’t forget that garage riffage is also soundtracking Madden ’08. Good for them, though, it’s a killer comeback single, may as well work it and reintroduce themselves. The video’s got ‘em in their finely tailored black ‘n’ whites and blown up — first to 50 times their normal size, then like a porta-potty in Austin. Don’t need to page doc Freud to figure Pelle.

The Black And White Album is out 10/8 in the UK, 10/9 in the US via Interscope. And as Howlin’ Pelle mentioned back in May, expect his guest vocal on a new Raconteurs tune “Footsteps” at a date TBA.

Damn, I love these guys. Awesome song and a good video, though the 2/3 mark is a little lackluster. I can’t wait for the album. (And, dare I say it, is this really a comeback? Tyrannosaurus Hives didn’t produce anything quite as big as “Hate To Say I Told You So,” but it was a good album.)

And Pelle with Jack White on a Raconteurs track? My mind is blown and is primed for further blowings.

they’re also the most hilariously arrogant band since tenacious d or anything tom morello did. only these guys are kidding. check out their podcast for some rediuclous lines such as:
“the reponse to the new songs has been overwhelming. it’s realy nice of people to be willing to alter their top 10 favorite songs ever.” awesome

caught their headline show in Toronto the other day…. definitely the best live performance I have ever seen, with this song in particular being so good.

‘hilariously arrogant band’? did this fucking website start after the makers fifth record?

they bring it live, but the records, how do you say in swedish?…”not as good as hellacopters.”

furthest thing from claiming to be garage for the commercial shit.

    ever. (oh, was it sxsw?)
