Longstanding favorites Gang Gang Dance’s fifth album Eye Contact is one of 2011′s best. You’ve heard the 11-minute opener “Glass Jar.” This video for another standout “MindKilla” was directed by the Boredoms’ Shoji Goto. It may remind you of iTunes Visualizer.

Eye Contact is out 5/9 in the UK and 5/10 in the US via 4AD. They’re playing a record release party 5/4 at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg.

Great releases are generally few and far between before May/June. Lots of good stuff generally gets released between April & June (like…. the new Gang Gang!)
I’m really hoping when you say “few exceptions” you are talking about the new Destroyer record. Because that’s going to be top contender end of this year.
