I’m not going this year, but I’ve been to Coachella many times before so I’ll just highlight a few conflicts that I would’ve had a hard time with:
Friday:
The Drums // Odd Future — overlap isn’t too bad, plus Mojave & Sahara are right next to each other. Just haven’t seen either yet and am a big fan of both, would probably end up leaving Drums early for OF. Because HOLY SHIT OFWGKTA IS IN THE SAHARA??? THE SAHARA!!! Dopest outdoor tent/stage in America (personal, but pretty close to the truth opinion)
Lauryn Hill // Tame Impala // Ariel Pink’s Haunted Grafitti // Pains of Being Pure at Heart // YACHT –
Seems like if I was a true fan of Lauryn Hill this wouldn’t be a question, but definitely seems like they put a lot of bands with similar fans on at the same time (even though YACHT is after Pains). I’d probably end up staying in one of the tents for YACHT since it looks like the sun wouldn’t be down just yet. Then you’d be set for Sleigh Bells -> Cut Copy if you so pleased, or run over to Interpol.
Saturday:
Seems like hanging out in the Gobi while the sun’s out would be the best bet (shade rules). That’s a crazy Main Stage line-up, haven’t seen it that stacked in years (although Mumford & Sons).
Sunday:
The Strokes / Kanye closer on the main stage is pretty awesome. That’ll be a good end of the festival. Also: lawl @ She Wants Revenge (in 2006, SWR closed out the outdoor stage during Daft Punk in the Sahara [SAHARA!] lol @ SWR) I remember at Wolf Parade the next day I overheard some girl asking another, “Hey, did you see She Wants Revenge last night? OMG They were awesome!!” My friend and I looked at each other (we saw Daft Punk) and just shook our heads lol.
