If anyone mentions a rainbow these days, there’s usually a pot of Radiohead beneath it. Switching that frequency some, the mysterious western Pennsylvania psych troupers Black Moth Super Rainbow offer the life aquatic in the video for “Sun Lips,” a standout from their mid-melting sun-showering Dandelion Gum.

Reminds us a bit of Gummo with its wacky characters, small-town camaraderie, and the roadkill-at-the-bottom-of-the-pool (and in the wall, beside the train track, etc) story line. Come to think of it, could also work well as a fine spot for Dirty Jobs. In the end, though, it’s all a sacrifice for the beloved BMSR — letting those little animal spirits roam free.

Now why’d they have to go and torch those critters all Viking-like? I’m sure Britney could’ve used them for her next BBQ.

    That tune is awesome.
How long before it appears on next year’s feted indie movie?
