EJ, Laura XBox, Marcus, and I went to the Calexico/Lyle Lovett thing at Battery Park on July 4th. It was filled to capacity and we couldn’t get in. So we just made a picnic at the edge of the park and read magazines. Here’s Calexico live at Bonnaroo a few weeks ago. You can hear me applaud (almost). I ran into Joey Burns later in the day and not surprisingly he was very cool. We talked about how he loves Arthur Lee.
The band’s got a new remix EP that’s allegedly only available in the UK, though I saw a copy in the singles bin at Virgin Times Square yesterday. Calexico also make an appearance (performing “Güero Canelo”) in the upcoming Tom Cruise/Jamie Foxx movie Collateral.
