Sure they are pushing onto new material already, but that doesn’t mean they’re done packaging and fucking with their latest opus. P4K reports that the Letterman-befuddling “Summertime Clothes” is getting itself a proper and independent release, featuring remixes from Zomby, Dâm-Funk, and LDN dubstepper L.D. And lest you think they were fucking with late night TV for no reason, those dancing weirdos from Letterman will feature prominently in the forthcoming Danny Perez (“Who Could Win A Rabbit”) directed video. Which is cool, but also it was fun when they were fucking with late night TV for no reason. Also, who got that Crack Box boxed set before orders were halted due to overwhelming demand? It’s good to be Animal Collective right now. Here’s the “Summertime Clothes” single’s tracklist:

A1 Summertime Clothes (Album Version)
A2 Summertime Clothes (Dam-Funk Remix)
B1 Summertime Clothes (Leon Day AKA L.D Remix)
B2 Summertime Clothes (Zomby’s Analog Lego Mix)

  1. I just found my original copy of Spirit They’re Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished that they sold on their 2000/2001 tour. I thought I lost it. :::Fights urge to put it on eBay::: The only ones I’ve ever seen are the double CD with Danse Manatee.

  3. I was able to order it on Monday, and received notification that my credit card was charged this morning. Now I just need to buy a turntable so I can listen to it when it arrives.

dude, that’s lame. if you don’t have a record player just wait for an mp3 rip. there were people out there that actually have record players that were really looking forward to this.

You guys, chill. This may be a vinyl record, but first and foremost, it’s really a collector’s item. It may be weird to buy it if you can’t play it, but it’s just part of being a superfan.

  4. by “fucking with” do you mean “sucking on and embarrassing themselves in front of a comedy legend and national audience” ??

If Animal Collective have a publicity company representing them, they should really just stop paying them. The indie blogs do it all for free.

I own every Animal Collective proper release and other side projects and what not…
So I was not expecting this album to sound like MWPP.

Listened to the albums this weekend.
    Kind of poo pie.

    I guess it’s ok, but man…
    Life is short.

  11. I don’t get all the hub-bub with Cracker Box. It’s awful. I couldn’t even listen to it all the way through. It is no longer occupying value space on my iPod.
