Wilco, The Strokes, Lupe Fiasco, The Decemberists, and many many others headed down to New Orleans for the week-long New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The festival started in the 70s, and it’s gotten pretty diverse — there probably aren’t many other festivals where you could catch Arcade Fire, Gregg Allman Blues Band, Lupe Fiasco, Kid Rock, Big Freedia, and Bon Jovi on the same stage. That diversity lead to a nice surprise during Arcade Fire’s set, when Cyndi Lauper joined the band for a cover of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and stuck around for “Sprawl II.” You can check out video of her guest appearance below, and see photos from the festival above.

Crazy that they played Sprawl II with Cyndi Lauper because when I first heard the song, I thought it was very reminiscent of All Through the Night. In a good, great way.
This is great but more blues and jazz sounds good
Try out Fantine – Rubberoom, she’s Jazz/Blues/Indie
