The Odd Future Detroit Show Was Ended Short When Some Asshole Decided To Continue To Throw GLASS BOTTLES On Stage. The First One During The First Song Was Whatever, Almost Hitting Syd, We Got Over It. The Second One Went Right Past Domos Face, Landing Near Syds Feet, Almost Cutting Her Up. She Said Fuck It And Wasnt Gonna Wait For The 3rd One To Do Any Damage. Which Was Thrown 30 Seconds Later. Sorry Guys, But When you Are Throwing Big Ass Glass Bottles On Stage, Niggas Is Not Going To Wait Until One Cracks Then In The Head Or Shatters And Gets In Their Eyes Or What Ever. Sucks That One Guy Fucked It Up For All The Kids Who’ve Waited For So Long For The Gang To Come Out, Only To End So Quick. Overall, The Crowd Was Fucking Great, Thanks Detroit. BTW, Syd And Everyone Else Is OK.

as a usual patron for the majestic and its attached venues, i can say the venue wasnt entirely prepared to host this show. it was originally scheduled for a approx 300+ size venue and moved to the theater almost immediately…. i was surprised bottles were given in the first place, every time i went to the bar last night at the theater, my beer was poured into a plastic cup
part of me is completely understanding that if i was in the situation i would stop playing too… but when their music and live act somewhat encourages this radical behavior i was surprised to see them just stop and not take care of the people who threw the bottles and continue with the approx 4-5 songs they had left, and it seemed many of the people in attendance felt similar
while it didnt change my opinions of OF, i def dont blame anyone that may now be put off them (which was the case for 2 of the 3 people i was with). prior to this debacle the show was fantastic and i just really wish it could have continued

David Yow of The Jesus Lizard took a bottle to the side of the head, said “Nice shot dick”, waited for them to clean the glass off the stage, then asked the crowd if “they could get some kind of symmetry going, and get this side too” before playing out the rest of the show.

Yeah, Yow’s a hero — incredible, honest, visceral, fearless live presence. I saw him get knocked out, get revived, and then continue playing (at CBGB’s). Was my point of mentioning the Germs, too. And, really, could keep adding to the list of folks who “walk the walk”/have balls outside their Twitter feeds. Odd Future’s subject matter doesn’t bother me, but that they don’t believe it, that it’s clearly just a Jackass-inspired game, is pretty boring. They had the chance to do something interesting with that glass … and ran away.

I love how the dude tried to mitigate their ditching the show by describing the bottles as “big ass glass bottles.” As if the bottles were just “normal sized glass bottles” they’d be OK with it.
