So Radiohead hosted a party yesterday (hosted, get it?). Everybody was invited, but not everybody could get in — or get online, as it were. But here’s some good news for those who found the party crashed due to tech/bandwith issues, here’s a replay. Here’s Part One: Entanglement, featuring a reworking of “Harrowdown Hill.” It’s got a beat and Thom can dance to it.

After the jump comes Part Two, in which Radiohead becomes the world’s best Björk cover band.

That’s Homogenic’s “Unravel.” Study Radiohead’s rendition on your PMP:

And for your comparison and contrast:

The top comment on that Björkian YouTube: “Bjork’s amazin, she and thom yorke should get married! =)” The Cremaster master would have something to say about that … but yeah that’d be a hell of a couple.

Also: “To Whom It May Concern … I GIVE UP”? There’s another testcast scheduled for tonight, so nobody’s giving up on anything just yet.

Before the testcast proper came a couple of record spinning sessions; we’d linked to Nigel’s earlier, and Colin had one, too. Here they both are embedded for her pleasure:

I guess I just keep hoping against hope that they will at least try to release something remotely as memorable as The Bends or OK Computer. You know, something I actually would actually want to listen to.

Hooks and melodies doesn’t automatically equal selling out.

    Call me old school.

Totally agree. Radiohead is a band that is easy to respect, but hard to actually enjoy these last few years.

  12. Not sure which records you’ve been listening to, but Amnesiac, HTTT and this one all have loads of hooks and melodies. Even Kid A had really kick-ass songs. Personally, the stuff they’ve done this decade has only deepened my disturbing nerd-love for them. Next child we’re having is going to be named Kid B.
