Next week Victoria Hesketh puts out her full-length debut in the UK, Hands (streaming on MySpace). She’s not quite ready for a full-length closeup Stateside, although Little Boots is not leaving this side of the Atlantic hanging entirely, either; Americans without internet connections and the ability to download international releases will have to make do with the Illuminations EP, packaged as a five-song primer to her electro-pop stylings. Among its contents are the big hit (“Stuck On Repeat”), the big video (“New In Town“), a Freddie Mercury cover (“Love Kills”), and a digital booklet. (Sorry, bras not included). The EP also features a U.S.-release exclusive in the form of “Not Now,” a slice of straight-on and glittery Kylie-esque dancefloor pop, which we have for you here:
Illuminations is out 6/9 in the US on the newly revived Elektra label. You can get it on iTunes. Tracklist:
01 “New In Town”
02 “Stuck On Repeat”
03 “Not Now”
04 “Magical”
05 “Love Kills” (Freddie Mercury cover)
Bonus: Little Boots on Blur’s “To The End”:

Not ever.
rock-on tenori-on grrl!
Why is this stuff declared cool to listen to by the indie intelligentsia but Britney and all of her acolytes aren’t? What is the difference, honestly, beyond Little Boot’s even further appropriation of the 80′s crap design sense.
but, robyn, annie, and sunn0))) are cool 2 indie kids, so yr question probz shouldve been asked like 3 years ago
I wasn’t getting her at first but she’s been growing on me. Digging “Meddle” and “Stuck on Repeat”. Will give her album a try.
to a friend i once described lady gaga as “(christina aguilera + ugly stick) – talent”. it seems for little boots i can just slightly alter this musical equation to look like this…
(christina aguilera + ugly stick) (- talent) – mainstream success = little boots.
I;d like to hear your “To the End” cover.
(christina aguilera + ugly stick) times negative talent? what?
fwiw at this point in her career lady gaga was pretty much in the same place; I heard about her from popmatters before clear channel
give me the red arrow all you want but the truth is, behind all the perez hilton exposure, unicorns and music production is an average-looking lass from blackpool whose covers sound like they belong at a *cough* low budget wedding.
