At tonight’s 15th Annual Webby Awards, James Murphy & crew picked up the “Artist Of The Year” trophy, not for having “the worst website ever” but because they’ve “fully harnessed the power and scope of the Internet as creative visionaries and musicians” by livestreaming their MSG farewell gig in April. Arcade Fire won a Webby too (for The Wilderness Downtown), but couldn’t make the Hammerstein Ballroom ceremony. There was however live music from Norah Jones and Antoine Dodson (not together). Kreayshawn wasn’t invited. Check out pics of LCD with their Webby above, and video of James’ five word acceptance speech below.
