We’ve heard and pondered the gurgling, dark This Heat! psychedelia of Fits‘s “Mirrored And Reverse,” but “I Start To Runt,” the first single from White Denim’s second collection, finds the Texas trio in more upbeat territory. Here, the soulful garage swivel’s fleshed out by the Tom Haines-directed video, which feels like Time Bandits for some reason and shows us real acting from the guys, especially co-vocalist and bassist Steve Terebecki: Not only does he lay down an addictive bass line, he showcases pretty good cardiovascular health.

Fits is out 6/22 in the UK via Full Time Hobby. US release date TBD. For now, you can stream Fits at NME, because as the label situation suggests, the Brits pay more attention to these guys than dudes’ home turf.

Sweet vid. The song was less appealing to me than their older stuff, but the album will probably be great anyway.

at the top you wrote “I Start To Runt” which is kind of funny, but probably should be fixed.
