It’s actually the Springsteen fans‘ full-performance take from the more conceptual, little kid-starring official video. Which is why they’re going to town in an empty living room. Thing is, you don’t need concepts with a song like this, the lyrical storytelling takes care of that. The best recorded performance might’ve been the one the New Brunswick, New Jersey boys gave Letterman when he shit himself in excitement, but this is an inspired, straight-up semi-mainstream rock ‘n’ roll anthem and it’s worthwhile seeing it from another angle.

I don’t know about the performance-only clip. I think the one with the kid/funeral parts has a bit more a emotional element to it. Regardless, love this band! New Brunswick, NJ represent.
You just couldn’t leave the jersey pride out of it could you??
Hub city!
It’s not as good as the 69 sound.
you gummers definitely got paid to post this bleh
Oh come on. I mean, fine, but it certainly scratches a certain itch. I screamed along to this after a recent funeral for a friend. LOOK AT ALL THAT
What do you mean “semi”-mainstream? The crowd that eats up “Use Somebody” would love this to death. It’s like the same chords.
this came out months ago…
Yeah this is really old, but more recognition for The Gaslight Anthem is always welcome. The ’59 Sound is one of my favorite albums of the past few years.
i love this band!
very old video BTW
i prefer “great expectations” but this is excelent too
