When PAGE SIX mentioned that ’70s art-rock band Television’s “Marquee Moon” played as Cooper cut to a commercial earlier that day, he admitted that he and his staff take pride in their “bump” picks. “Our theme song is by a punk band from Boston called Flin Flon,” he said. “We try to use different bump music every week. We play ‘Radio Clash’ by the Clash a lot. I have much cooler people than me helping pick the songs, but I help. We just interviewed Bono and he seemed to like it.”

Anderson has been named one of People Magazine’s Sexiest Men of 2005, IMO he IS the sexiest man on earth. The photo of him in people is unbelievably HOT.
My guess is that only his Mother and God knows if he is gay or not, the truth is that he is very charming and he is refreshing to watch. I loved his expresion when the piece about the sexiest man alive aired on his show, and that he had made the list and CNN considered him their very own sexiest piece of ass. He was like please somebody just shoot me. You could see he was too modest to admit he is sexy or that people consider him sexy. LOL! Erika Hill had lot of fun with it.
Do you guys notice that Anderson almost always tries to joke with Erica Hill when she breaks with the news updates? Especially when there is a funny story at the end of the news update.

I guess he could be either way straight or gay. Do you guys think that loosing his Father at such an early age perhaps made him look for acceptance of a male figure? Sadly his brother also commited sucide at age 23. Basicly, he has lost the closest male figures in his life. Anderson says he feels a very close connection to his Dad and that he reads his Dad’s Book at least once a year. A book about how to live life. May be that book holds some answers.
No doubt he was born in wealthy environment and the hardships he has lived through I think is what drove him to his sucessful career and also to guard his personal life.

If he was gay, and being the man we all seem to think he is, don’t you think if he was gay he’d be out. I don’t know just a thought. I’ve read some of his columns from Details magazine. It just seem to me that he reveals so much of himself and he cares so much for people that if he were gay and he witnessed injustices suffered by gay people that he would stand up. I mean he recieved the media award from GLAAD. Don’t you think that would have been a good time to stand up.

the thing is i don’t thing he’s straight, but it’s a stretch to call him gay. i mean he did win the media award from GLAAD and like it has been said, the presentation of the award was the moment to see if he’s gay or not. since men chemically can’t be bisexual, i think it’s safer to lean towards him being gay.

i can’t believe i am writing—never have, but, i find myslef fascinated by anderson cooper, and his mother and their story. i have locked eyes with her—years ago, very beau, and petite. i also knows where she lives, and how she tried to get over her son’s death, with unconventional means.

Gloria had her first two children when she was quite young, with Leopld Stakowski. Stan is in his 50′s and Chris, who is estranged from the family, is in his 50′s, as well. Carter and Anderson came along later in her life with her 4th husband Wyatt Cooper.

Doesn’t anyone think that if Anderson had dated any women the world would have heard about it by now? Given how many people find him attractive I would find it hard to believe that he could keep his love life a complete secret even if he tried.
The only famous men who would want to (and manage to) keep their love lives a complete secret are gay, IMO. And I don’t buy that he’s some kind of dork and isn’t good at romance. Yeah, it’s odd that are no reliable photos of Anderson’s boy/girlfriends. Come on, a guy that hot, that rich, and that sweet must have his pick of whoever to go out with. even if he were straight, I’d never have a chance.
He’s been spotted ‘out’ and about in New York for years with men. Some of these sightings, especially in gay bars, sound pretty hot. BUT-there isn’t one single publication that would touch a photo like that.

you’re missing the point again! loving someone is not about finding that person “sexy”! what IS “sexy” anyways? its only a “state of mind” and such things don’t last. I think that, once you’ve met someone and were able to love this person even if he/she were not “sexy” then THATS LOVE!
noone can be sexy or witty or sweet all the time .. and being “smart” is good for the job, but for a personal relationship you need to share many many other qualities, none of them (except one) you’ve mentioned above.

As a girl, it completely turns me off to discover a guy to be gay, Anderson Cooper being no exception, although they make great friends to hang out with.

Wow. I am truly amazed by all the comotion. Gay or not, Anderson Cooper is phenominal at what he does. Is he fine? Oh hell ya, but there is a lot more to him than just his looks. Is he gay? Dont know and dont care. I enjoy watching 360 and I am guilty of tuning in today to Regis and Kelli to watch him co-host. However, I am by no means an expert on his personal life like most of you seem to think you are. He’s awesome and gay or straight Andy is the man.
Sadly, the first time I’ve even heard of Anderson Cooper was just recently when he subbed for Regis on Live. Now I am completely enamoured with the man – and judging by how long this thread has been running, so are a lot of other folks. I have never been attracted to a gay man (closeted or otherwise) but I’ve always fallen hard for the smart, witty dorks. And that’s what drew me in.
I truly don’t believe he’s gay and I really don’t understand why folks are so desperate to pin him as such. He’s a brilliant man and a real human being who has lived a not-so-average life. He works probably 15-20 hours a day (it’s not like he just shows up for his two hour CNN gig 5 mins before air) and he consistently travels all over the world. The man is BUSY. What woman is going to put up with not ever seeing her boyfriend? He has made a choice to put his work first. When a woman chooses to pursue something other than getting married and having a ton of babies, she’s pinned as a frigid control freak. When a man does it – oh, he must be gay.
As for the reasons listed by other posters that he might be gay – dresses well, well groomed & clean, blue blood, ivy league graduate – that’s the funniest thing I’ve ever read. Who wants to see an uneducated slob anchoring the news? Hello!?
I’ve just realized how brilliant Anderson really is. By keeping his personal life private, he keeps his buzz appeal and subsequently his ratings higher. Example, this thread. Brilliant!
It’s natural for women to want to believe that Anderson’s not gay, because he’s a very cool, desirable guy, but isn’t it just a little unusual that he’s NEVER, ever, been connected to ANY woman? That doesn’t happen just because someone is extremely private. Robert DeNiro is one of the most private men in show business, yet there was still information about his wives and girlfriends in the press. I can’t ever recall reading about Anderson being on a date with any woman or even a RUMOR of a date with a woman! No one is that private. There have been tons of rumors and sightings of Anderson with men, this is going all the way back to his days on WNN. He’s almost 40 years old and you’d think he would’ve found a nice woman to settle down with by now. Recently he said he’d like to start a family, he didn’t say he wanted to get married, but just have kids. Hey, he may surprise everyone and get married to a woman, but that sure will fly in the face of what most people seem to feel about him. Keith Olbermann and Michael Musto were making jokes about the possibility of AC being gay on live tv the other night. None of that ever seems to affect Anderson, he just stays silent.

My little brother’s been in L.A. for 15 years-went to UCLA. He used to see Mr. Cooper back in the day at The Abbey. Called him the ‘silver cruiser’. Skinny, blue eyes, black leather jacket. Looking for ‘man love.’ He ain’t straight, tootsies.

i partially blame Gloria for all this. maybe she didnt raise him the way she should have. her sons needed a father male figure in their lives, soeone to teach the boys to be a real man…andy needs to realize he needs a women to make his life better and to turn it around, he would be happy if he went that way.
