After releasing the excellent lead MP3 “Reflection Of The Television,” Scottish emo-gazers the Twilight Sad made “I Became A Prostitute the first single from their forthcoming, sophomore full-length Forget The Night Ahead. The smoldering guitar racket soundtracks some pretty simple but darkly hypnotic footage of a burlesque dancer, teasing and posing as James Graham pushes his choruses skyward and into the red. NSFW if your W isn’t into transparent tops and exposed rumps.

Forget The Night Ahead is out 9/22 (9/21 in the UK) via FatCat. Don’t forget the “I Became A Prostitute” single’s b-side, “In The Blackout.”

  1. Do you guys think there’s a sexual connotation to the little cowboy toy?

  2. There seems to be a lot of hype surrounding The Twilight Sad at the moment. I’m yet to fully understand all of it but I need to listen to more material for sure.

Strange video… Is it actually old footage or just something filmed in a pub and stuck a brown filter on the tape?

As for the track, a few more listens and it might go in more…

Have you heard their debut album? If you do, you’ll understand!

Last year they released a compilation and I think the two songs with “Untitled” in the title are going to be in the next album. I think, I’m not sure.
