Last night in a live webcast celebrating the release of Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks’ solid Beck Hanson-produced LP Mirror Traffic, Mr. Malkmus announced the winner of the band’s contest to find a suitable, FCC-friendly replacement for the phrase “blow job” in the band’s single, “Senator.” And, the winner is just as anticlimactic as you might have imagined — “corn dog” — but Malkmus passes it off with a reference to the Minutemen so I guess we’re alright with that. Check out last night’s webstream via Amoeba below.
If you still gotta have more Malkmus on release day, check out the band’s new video for album cut “No One Is (As I Are Be).” Mirror Traffic is out now via Matador.

Corn dog…I like it…
Listen to Walking the Room and hear Greg Behrendt and Dave Anthony’s definition of corn-dog.
Its a verb, and there ain’t nothin’ anticlimactic about it.
Why is the picture that I posted yesterday afternoon still “awaiting moderation”?
