Florida duo Awesome New Republic, comprising BTW Michael-John Hancock and Brian Robertson, are following this year’s Rational Geographic Vol. I with its sequel, Rational Geographic Vol. II. “Florida” is a sort-of homage to their home state, apocalyptic in lyric but uplifting everywhere else, and more of an arena-ready rouser than we’ve heard them in the past. (Remember “Rotary Clone” was more Hot Chip than soaring stadium rock. Dudes have spread.)
