The other day we got a full listen of the new full-length from Amanda Blank, the longtime affiliate of the Diplo/Santigold/Spank Rock Philly crew that’s owned the internet since the twin peaks of Arular and YoYoYoYoYoYo. The album’s called I Love You, a sweetly sentimental title for a showcase of booty rap that’s anything but, at least on lead single “Might Like You Better.” It’s not far from the deep club beats and upfront hypersexual come-ons of her Bangers & Cash turn, Amanda coming upon a novel form of dispute resolution (“I might like you better / if we slept together”) — or at least borrowing a good one from Romeo Void — to some banger beats from the Diplo/Switch/XXXChange production axis.
I Love You is out via Downtown. It features guest spots from Santigold, Spank Rock, Chuck Inglish, and old “>N.A.S.A.-collab buddy Lykke Li.

That was very visually enticing, if not sonically vomit-inducing. The lyrics might well have come from a Pussycat Dolls’ song

I saw her at Sasquatch. She was pretty darn good. Filth it may be, but it sure is fun.
She keeps trolling around Toronto.. seen her open for both Santigold and YYYs within the past couple months. That being said, I very much appreciate the fact that she seems to hate pants.
