Though Harlem rapper ASAP Rocky incited the hype cycle enough to secure $3 million from RCA, the perpetually-delayed release of his debut mixtape LIVELOVEA$AP (as well as, you know, the money) led to a little backlash, leading many to question whether the style-sampling MC was really the “next big thing” or just the latest flavor of the month. The output we’ve heard has ranged from the exceptional (“Peso,” “Trilla“) to maybe just a little derivative (“Grippin Woodgrain,” “Out Of This World.”) But, LIVELOVEA$AP is out now, so we can all stop speculating for a second and see if Rocky delivers on his initial promise. Head over to asapmob.com and grab the download.
