How do I pick just one favorite Achtung Baby song? This album is one of the few where I can listen to it from beginning to end, whereas most albums have just a few tracks that I would typically listen to. All of these songs have a special meaning and memory for me. This album brings me back to the Zoo TV Tour which I wish I could go back in time and relive over and over again. Do I pick Acrobat or Mysterious Ways with their seductive bass lines or Until The End of The World with its kick arse rhythm. How about Zoo Station or Even Better Than The Real Thing which make my heart pound with excitement as they begin knowing the songs are going to take off like an explosion. I remember being outside of Croke Park, in June of 2005, as the band rehearsed Wild Horses and freaking out in excitement as it was so unexpected! Pick just one song…so hard but if I have to it would be “One” as it was the song that gave U2 it’s second chance in life. Huge fan but not able to afford such a luxury item so here’s hoping for the luck of the Irish.

Hard to pick a favorite from this classic album but I would have to say that I enjoy “One” the best. It’s one of the greatest songs ever written period.
“Zoo Station”. Gritty, sexy and atmospheric. It was first song that paved a new road and sound for U2. I remember first listening to Achtung Baby in my beat-up red Nissan Sentra in high school during a long cold winter. When I hear the song, it reminds me of those cold winter starlit nights in Kansas, driving around alone, feeling that raw energy and passion booming out of my speakers. It made me feel alive and sparked my imagination to what could be…and how anything was possible.

Who can play favorites. “One,” “Mysterious Ways,” “Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses,” “Acrobat,” “Love Is Blindness” and “Until the End of the World.”
The Fly. Love Bono’s falsetto in that one.

Depends on the day; usually The Fly or Ultraviolet, sometimes Even Better, Whose Gonna Ride, or So Cruel. The only one it never is Trying To Throw Your Arms.
Geez, pick ONE?! I guess The Fly, though if the album version fo Even Better Than The Real Thing was the fish out of water remix they did on the tour it might be that. Or Ultraviolet (Light My Way). Or Mysterious Ways. Or….
though Until The End of The World has probably the more bad ass lyric sets of their entire catalog:

Um, YES PLEASE. I can’t possibly afford this boxset so winning it would be AMAZING.
Ultraviolet (Light My Way) is probably my favorite – I was stunned/thrilled/amazed when they played it at 3 of the shows I saw of the 360 Tour. I’m sure One and Mysterious Ways and others might go done as the massive, long lasting hits but that song came at a time I was going through some relationship stuff and it spoke to me. It still does.
