UPDATE: Also below, check out the full version of Rihanna’s “Drunk On Love,” the new track that samples the xx’s “Intro.”
Rihanna’s new album Talk That Talk is imminent, and we’ve already heard the radio-dominating “We Found Love” and the brand-new single “You Da One,” plus clips from every song on the album. And now the album’s title track has leaked, Jay-Z guest verse and all. It’s a huge-sounding midtempo jam with a Europop beat from StarGate and a typically regal Jay appearance. Listen to it below. Also below, we’ve got the Dr. Luke collab “Where Have You Been,” which sounds like Rihanna’s take on a circa-1993 rave jam, and the xx-sampling “Drunk On Love.”

Talk That Talk is out 11/21 on Def Jam.

I believe Ester Dean (“Superbass”) also wrote this song. I haven’t listened to the rest of Talk That Talk in full, but every song here sounds like a future straight forward single and it would not surprise me if Rihanna ties the record Katy Perry and MJ hold for most number ones off a single album.
didn’t loud just come out?! this album is shaping up to be another beast.
She does right what kesha, katy poopy, and all those hoe bitches don’t.
s/o hoe bitches.
If you’ve followed Rihanna from the start, you’d quickly realize that she’s released a new album almost every year since her debut. “Good Girl Gone Bad” is her longest running album. Partly because it was her breakout one, and the whole Chris Brown thing happened towards the end of that album cycle.
So around this time next year she’ll probably have album number 7 out. It’s slightly annoying because it doesn’t really give you anything to truly appreciate.
Anticipate, not appreciate.
We live in an iTunes world where in order for pop stars to stay relevant, they have to have a constant assembly line of music in order to stay relevant.
On a similar tangent, the digital model looks to be working well for major labels as they’re supposedly planning on killing off the CD by the end of 2012. If you’re planning on purchasing the new Drake album, you’ll have already noticed that there is no standard format — just a deluxe and vinyl: http://www.side-line.com/news_comments.php?id=46980_0_2_0_C
That’s similar to what her manager said when asked why she releases albums so quickly. I agree with that somewhat–but I think it also shows they don’t have faith in her talent.
Because there’s artists and bands that can go five years without releasing anything, and come back just as relevant as ever. The long wait actually helps some of them build hype. If she goes away for two-three years people won’t forget about her. It would actually make them hungrier for new music.
Sadly, it still seems that she only aspires to be a singles maker. In regards to Talk That Talk the whole is much lesser than the sum of its parts.
agreed…but I don’t blame her I blame her label
I heard Talk That Talk and I like it…

Also the whole album is pretty much about sex so what’s up with the last song “Farewell”? It surely doesn’t belong on this album but clearly the label want’s to throw however many hits they can on this thing
Agree that “Farewell” feels tacked on along with “We All Want Love” just to fill a quota. The rest of the album is just oozing with sexuality and these two don’t fit and bring the album down as a whole. Rihanna for the most part has her own inimitable style and yet it seems her label still wants to draw from the Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, et al. well. I think it speaks volumes that she still has yet to have a #1 album.
Definitely. I hate Rihanna ballads.
Not feeling this XX…uh….sample. Is it really a sample when you just straight up and sing over the entire song? Just curious. I want to like it, but I was really hoping for something a bit more creative than vocal pyrotechnics over a song that already existed exactly the way it is now. And it was largely an instrumental in the first place, so no need to even erase any vocal tracks. Just kinda feels lazy to me somehow. More power to her/them for doing it, (no hating here!) just was hoping for more.
