We just recently learned that Sigur Rós are back together, working on getting an album together for release next year. But in the meantime, frontman Jónsi has been busy, working on music for the forthcoming Cameron Crowe movie We Bought A Zoo. He also contributed two songs to the soundtrack, co-writing one of those tracks with Crowe himself. That song is a burst of orchestral gorgeousness called “Gathering Stories,” and it’s streaming below.
The We Bought A Zoo soundtrack is out is out 12/13 on Columbia.

I think it sounds great. Truly beautiful. I’m excited to hear the rest of the soundtrack and also see it set to film. The soundtrack drops a day before my birthday so I know what I’m asking for…
Go was a total surprise to me and i fell even more in love with it’s (often superior) companion, Go Quiet.
This is another great surprise – I thought now that the group was back in the studio we might not hear anything solo for a while.
perfect christmas present for me!
