I’m not sure which is the more powerful endorsement, Jack Nicholson as a homicidal sociopath in Tim Burton clown makeup, Jack Nicholson as a pro-torture army Colonel who reinforces the patriarchal stereotype that powerful women are sexy because when you reduce them to that type of costume-play sexuality it renders them back to unthreatening objects of male pleasure, or the real life Bucket List Jack Nicholson whose main role these days is apparently to sit in the front row of the Academy Awards with sunglasses on like some kind of SNL-parody of himself and release YouTube endorsements of political candidates that he made on iMovie in his Mulholland Drive mansion.
