In the middle of the last decade, the former Teen Idles/Minor Threat/Skewbald/Embrace/Egg Hunt/Fugazi frontman Ian MacKaye got together with former Warmers drummer Amy Farina to form a duo called the Evens. Together, they released two criminally underrated albums. Their style was basically the classic Dischord post-hardcore style, slowed down and muted and sweetened with some truly gorgeous harmonies.
For perfectly understandable reasons, they took a break for a few years after releasing 2006′s Get Evens. (They had a kid together.) And now they’re back with a new single, “Warble Factor” b/w “Timothy Wright,” which gloriously brings back the sound of those two albums. Stream “Warble Factor” below.

As December nears, there will be so much Dischord entering my ears. This is nice. Also, I’m looking forward to giving The Office of Future Plan’s debut a spin and finding that Void reissue underneath my tree.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Anything with Ian MacKaye attached to it gives me a raging hard-on.
