Okay, we don’t really need any more proof that whatever happens on The Hills, if anything ever happens on The Hills, isn’t happening organically. But this really obvious studio-added voice-over is just shoddy, shoddy television. And Whitney Port lies!

There’s a fact about reality TV: if you’re not watching the person say the words with their mouths, then they didn’t say those words at that time. It’s kind of not important in a scripted show like The Hills, but during this phone call where Whitney calls a designer to (lie and) say that she and Lauren “discovered” a stain on a dress Lauren stained herself, notice that when Whitney says “I know it’s not your problem it’s completely our problem” as they’ve cut to Lauren, the audio has been totally re-recorded in a studio and inserted into the show in the most obvious way possible:

We will probably never know what Whitney really said to the designer, but we do know that she’s a big fat liar.

Also, an hour is way to fucking long for that show.
