
Philly retro rockers Dr. Dog are nothing if not consistent tweakers of their revivalist anthems; their last two LPs, Shame, Shame and Fate try on different hats, ranging from Beatles-y melodies to psyched out singalongs. Now Dr. Dog has been together for over a decade, and the formula still works on the first track from their new LP, “That Old Black Hole,” a song that hones in on a warm groove early and throws waves of melody and fuzz on top.
