M. Shawn Crahan is the resident scary clown in the inexplicably long-running Iowa trudge-metal band Slipknot, and he’s also the most unexpected thing about the new deluxe edition of Austra’s great electro-goth album Feel It Break. Crahan’s “Motion Remix” of Austra’s single “Beat And The Pulse” shows up on the deluxe edition’s second disc, and it sounds like what you’d expect: A hamfistedly evil take on the track. But it exists! That’s something, right?
Austra’s Feel It Break deluxe edition is out today digitally on Paper Bag in Canada and Domino elsewhere.
